John Bishop

English comedy superstar John Bishop is embarking on his tenth stand-up tour, ‘John Bishop: 25 Years Of Stand-Up’, which will hit Australia from November this year.

25 years ago, on 2 October, 2000, John Bishop stepped on to the stage of Manchester’s Frog And Bucket to play his first-ever comedy gig – in front of just a handful of people. By day, John worked in the pharmaceutical industry. . . And that night, when he picked up the mic, his life was changed.

Zoom ahead to 2025, and John’s about to head off on his tenth tour, themed around celebrating 25 years in the industry.

“I can't believe that it will be 25 years since I first performed at the Frog and Bucket in Manchester. It's been a rollercoaster!” John says. “And I can't thank the fans enough who have supported me all the way. I wanted to mark the anniversary with a brand-new tour – I really hope you can come and celebrate with me.”

John has enjoyed plenty of success and achievements in his career, with a number of comedy, entertainment and documentary TV shows including ‘John Bishop’s Australia’, ‘John Bishop’s Britain’, ‘John Bishop’s Only Joking’, ‘The John Bishop Show’, ‘The Josh Bishop Christmas Show’ and ‘John Bishop’s Gorilla Adventure’, ‘John Bishop’s Ireland’, and four seasons of ‘John Bishop: In Conversation With…’.

Tickets on sale 15 August.
